All you need to make these are buttons, embellishments, large sized paper clips, and a glue gun.
Heat your glue gun to the temperature you like. I like mine HOT. While your glue gun is heating, sort your buttons and embellishments into themes. I just looked at the assortment and saw what combinations I could make. This isn't necessary, but if you are giving them in groups like I am, it is a pretty way to give them.
My buttons came from Michaels and are called Loops and Threads. They were in the sewing department. My embellishments came from Michaels, too and are called Recollections. There are 15 rosettes in each package. The set was on sale, so these are a bargain.
Place a dab of hot glue on the back of the button or embellishment. Now, this part is important. Glue the embellishment on the single loop of the paper clip. The double loop is what slides onto the pages of the book. I placed the bookmark glued side up to dry.
Once you are finished with the bookmarks, create a way to gift them. You can place them on cardstock with a cute quote about books, or personalize them for your friends, like I did. What do you think about this gift?
What a cute idea. I love giving personalized gifts. This is so easy and fun to make, I bet.
