DIY Mason Jar Bottle Tree Ornament

I am participating in the 2018 Ornament Exchange sponsored by My Pinterventures.  I have participated in the past, 2015 here, 2016 here and 2017 here!  It's always so fun to send your ornament to your partner and hope they like it as much as you!

DIY Mason Jar Bottle Tree Ornament

I'd like to share with you how I made this adorable "Mason jar" ornament for my partner.

Materials

Mason jar ornaments from Dollar Tree (they come two to a package)
White or green Bottle Trees (I got my from Michaels)
glue gun
glue stick
silver pipe cleaner
white paint Sharpie

Steps

1. Remove the packaging and wash the ornament with hot soapy water. It will get any film off and give you a clean base to work from.

2.  Remove the gray "lid" of the jar.  Hot glue your bottle tree onto the lid.

3. Add hot glue around the base of the bottle tree, then wind the silver pipe cleaner around the base. This will cover any unsightly spots on the lid.

4.  Shake the white paint Sharpie.  Make snowflakes on the "jar" part of the ornament. Scatter them all over, and make them small enough to see the "tree" inside.

5.  Draw "snow" around the base of the ornament. Let dry thoroughly.

5.  Screw the lid to the jar.

6.  Make a cute tag to add to the ornament.  Finished!

As you can see, this is a super simple ornament. It looks adorable hanging from the tree, especially the white trees! I played around with green bottle trees and white ones to see which ones I liked the most and I genuinely liked the white ones!  If you had a white tree, though, I bet the green ones would look sharp!

  1. Eeeek, so darn cute. I would have to see it in person, but I think I'd like the white tree version best because it's like a frosty, snowy, Christmas morn!
